Derm Bandage

A sani-derm bandage is a clear, adhesive film that seals over the tattoo. The plasma and extra ink will pool underneath the bandage as it naturally kick starts the healing. DO NOT use a derm bandage if you have any allergies to adhesives or if tape on your skin gives you a rash.

• Leave the bandage on for 3 to 4 days. The blood and weep is going to pool in the bandage and look like a gross soy sauce packet. THIS IS NORMAL.
IF YOUR BANDAGE IS LEAKING, uncomfortable or giving you a rash - REMOVE IT
• DO NOT REAPPLY BANDAGE AFTER REMOVING.
• Run the bandaged area under warm soapy water. Remove it SLOWLY and use two hands, if possible.
• Wash your tattoo with warm water and a fragrance-free soap.
• Let air dry and apply a small amount of plain unscented lotion. We recommend aveeno, cetaphil or any fragrance-free moisturizer you may already use.

HOT TIPS:
• The derm will speed up the healing so we DO NOT recommend aquaphor or anything heavier than a lotion. • Always apply lotion with clean hands and stay away from moisturizers packaged in tubs.
• Staying well HYDRATED will help your skin heal. A new tattoo will take about two weeks to peel + appear healed. We recommend moisturizing a fresh tattoo daily for 4 weeks until it is fully healed.
• No baths, swimming, or soaking your new tattoo for a week after the bandage is removed.
• Wear, loose, breathable clothing over your new tattoo, especially after removing the bandage.
• DO NOT pick or scratch your tattoo. Let it peal naturally and apply moisturizer when itchy.
• Protect a fresh tattoo from the sun for two weeks and always wear sunscreen to protect your tattoo from aging.

Conventional Bandage

A conventional bandage is a non stick pad or saran wrap taped to the skin. Generally used for big work and people allergic to adhesives.

• Keep the bandage on overnight if possible. If it falls off or is uncomfortable, it is not a big deal.
• Wash your tattoo with very warm water and a fragrance-free soap. Rinse with cold water.
• DO NOT re-bandage your fresh tattoo once the bandage comes off.
• Let air dry and apply a small amount of plain unscented lotion. We recommend aveeno, cetaphil or any fragrance-free moisturizer you may already use.
• Continue to wash your tattoo twice a day and moisturize as needed.
• Wear loose, breathable cotton clothing over your tattoo. Do not let any straps, waistbands, shoes or jewelry rub against a fresh tattoo, especially during the first few days.
